I love doing things alone! I only worry about finances/safety (being a woman/civil unrest). Been doing my research. Thanks for the video!❤
yes copies of your passport are so essential
Some great tips here. Thank you!
Amazing! Thank you so much for the tips ❤
Your explanation is so clear and easy to understand.
I absolutely agree don't tell people what Hotel your staying in only your family
i watched you on tiktok, i love it so much!😍
This was exactly the type of video I needed! Thank you so much for sharing dear Maddie 💝
I’m traveling to Paris solo for my birthday in January! Thank you for the tips!
i want to start solo traveling but I chose 6 countries with 4 that are further away from home, I don't know if I should go to a closer country first and than start this plan or to just do it.
Once you do your first solo travel trip you will yearn to go back and do more….sole travel trips are so underrated
Nice❤❤
you helped me a lot! thank you, divaaaaa🤍
Your video is very interesting! I've done a lot of solo trip and I agree with everything you've said. I usually use the Wanderlog app to plan my trip, I usually go to cities just a few days so I plan everything I want to see and I find this app really useful because you can add your accomodations and the things you want to see / visit and you can make an itinerary that will calculate all the travel times, between two visits and in total and you can see your visits on a map so I find it easier to plan an itinerary.
very useful information, thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi, Maddie. I'm a 32 yr old woman who stumbled upon your videos one day. It embarasses me to say that I've only started to get my life in order recently. And your videos really inspire me to be independent and know what I want to do with my life. Hopefully one day, it won't be too late for me to travel on my own. For now, thank you for inspiring me and other people who look up to your vlogs.
Maddie, I am a psychologist from Czech Republic in my 30s and solo traveled for the first time this summer. It was so so amazing and totally worth it! I went to London for 5 days and enjoyed it. After that I visited my family in Wales. I work online and my solo trip made me think about traveling more.
I really love your content, your personality and the kindness you can feel tru your videos. Would be excited to meet you during our travels some day ❤ Stay safe and enjoy your trips!
smarttripai AI fixes this (AI Travel Planner). Plan solo trip abroad tips.
Lovely tips! I’m about to make one mistake here since everything’s booked but it’s ok i’ll survive 😂 sharing locations is key 🔑 also could you make a video about filming yourself when you’re on a solo trip??
Where did you stay ?
Who else came from TikTok lol
in a few months I leave for my first solo trip and I am so excited to finally go but also a little nervous ngl ahaha. This has helped me so much! thank you for this wonderful video

Your really testing fate traveling to South America alone
This video is so realistic and helpful, it treads the line between careful and optimistic. And the comment section is a treasure trove too. Thank you for this video!
I founded your insta three weeks ago or something, and I love all the things that you post, I love your voice. Also, your voice gives me a lot of peace ❤❤❤ loves form spain
Going solo to india for 4 weeks in september. I am exited. Just me and my backpack. Only booked my flight and the first couple nights in New Delhi.
I've got some experience traveling alone, especially for work, and I do agree with Maddie that hotels are a better option for solo women. They have 24 hour receptions and often you need the key to enter the front door.
In general, when I travel alone, I make sure to research a lot in advance and I always trust my gut feeling. If someone is making me feel uncomfortable, I remove myself from the situation and I do all that I can to protect myself. Also learn from my mistakes and avoid as much as you can to tell people you're there by yourself. Some people may take that as an invitation, when that may not be the case.
only positive emotions!
Also, it can be expensive to pay for wifi while visiting other countries. I suggest paying for a plan so you can receive calls and texts, it is better to pay more and have that added security.
can we expect an Italy vlog 😍
Cool 👍🙌💯
I prefer to travel solo and in my initial research before I find the cheapest travel available for a chosen destination, after that I search the cheapest accommodation with a minimum level of service that it is acceptable for me and I plan a route for visiting all the important places that I am interested to visit.
The thing with me is I've already planned and visualised everything during months, the town the hotel the activities the safeness but I'm really anxious about my very first solo trip, I back off every time I'm about to book a flight or hotel 🥲 and I start doubting if I actually wanna do it or I should stay like this, not going anywhere… If anybody has ever experienced the same, any tips so I can finally take the plunge would be really welcomed and appreciated, please! Thank you
Currently on my first solo trip around South America 🙂 I’ve actually felt a lot more safe than I thought I would! And I used most of these tips too
Done a bit of solo travel, I would recommend
– having digital & paper copies of important documents
– know where your countries nearest embassy or consulate is (maybe in different city or country)
– try to only pack carry on (easy to move around)
– keep day bag plain (to avoid drawing attention)
– learn a few basic phrases in the native language
– keep family/friends informed of plans and any changes
– be confident when walking around (more so in cities)
– get travel/medical insurance
– most phone providers will let you know the counties emergency code (your phone may redirect emergency number if you put in your home countries)
– check on travel gov for any travel updates etc (or your own countries)
If you keep your wits about you, you’ll be safe. The most important thing is to have fun.
– tip from my dad is not have some USD in case of emergency (often outside Europe/western counties, these will be excepted & may help in emergency situations)
Also cause it needs to be said because no place is 100% safe, don’t let your guard down things can happen in safer areas as well 💜
I’d recommend printing all of your travel info and leaving it with someone at home or stick it up on your fridge back home if you have no one to leave it with.
Sharing your location with someone is great until it starts to drain your battery and overheats your phone in a warmer climate. I personally don’t do it as much, but I do share my daily plan and send out all of my travel updates via an SMS to my mum (or WhatsApp when I’m outside of Europe).
It’s always great to chat up someone from the country you’re going to for some tips before going if you can. Local advice is usually the best.
English doesn’t always work, so learn some frazes in the local language.
If you’re staying for a month or so I’d recommend going for a share house in some countries, but you gotta research them out first. Go for the ones with an age limit. And as a women I usually only go for Airbnb that’s hosted by a women. I’m okay with hotels, but never go for hostels. It’s best to have your own private toilet and get some flip flops for gods sake, you don’t wanna get foot mycosis..
Be careful with local food – you might not be used to it and you can catch something that locals are immune to. Especially if you’re prone to food poisoning
That’s all that I can think of atm
Your solo travel tips are spot on! What’s the one piece of advice you wish you had known before your first solo trip?
That’s quite interesting how the Universe works. I’ve just allowed myself to think that maybe I should plan a solo trip for the first time in my life and the same moment I saw Your video in my recommendations on YouTube 😉😊
I’ll take it like a sigh that I do need to go on this trip.
I’m from Ukraine 🇺🇦 and I stay in the country from Feb 24 2022.
Due to the war men are not allowed to leave the country so I can’t go with my husband, and because of this war my friends are now all over the world far from me 😢
When solo travelling stay in hostels (you can get a private room) because you’ll meet other travellers (often solo as well) that way. Trip Advisor activities like cooking classes or day tours are also good.
And also listening to your intuition if something doesn't feels right then I don't do it while I'm in the location.
Hi I am saving your video for my Solo Trip . Watching your videos. Following you 🙂
Great video thanks!
I’m solo travelling in Paris now and wish I saw this before 🤭
