The English point is irrelevant. If you only travel to places where people know English, than you’ve barely travelled.
Japanese don't speak English too. It was so difficult to get any help there in Japan. Sometimes Japanese are not friendly to foreigners.
The kids are menacing? When i went they were the most polite and respectful kids I've ever seen.
