OMG! I just got it! A “mammogram-type-seat“ What an absolutely perfect phrase! The mental image made me guffaw! 🤣 (Yup, I double checked the definition.) I plan to use and abuse that expression as often as possible on my next trip!
Any specific suggestions for landing in heathrow airport
R the TSA in heathrow airport more Stricker
How would the doctor know about the tap water in other countries?
Having watched this I am now far too frightened to even leave my house!
Hi Laurie. I forgot to mention that on our 10 day trip to France with our church, I didn't use compression cubes. I used a hanging suitcase organizer. On these tours we don't stay more than 2 nights in one place. We are constantly moving hotels. They usually transport our luggage to and from the room. Subsequently we have to put our luggage out early in the morning, 6:00 am. IN the past I've used the compression cubes. It seemed like took a lot of time to put stuff back in the cube and then put them in the suitcase. The hanging suitcase organizer worked pretty well. I would just take it out, hang it up. Then the next morning I would put it back in the suitcase. It was easy to see where everything was and it stayed organized. I would highly recommend for this type of tour. I got the one from Pack Gear and the XL but it was for check luggage.
Sure! Please provide me with the list of travel videos you have in mind, and I'll help you craft a comment for one of them.
Just found your channel and it’s so helpful! We are moving to Italy next year with the Army and it’ll be our first time overseas with our 4 small children (they’ll all be ages 6 and under by next year) so I’m gobbling up all the travel tips I can for that long-haul flight and also leisure travel around Europe! Also going to share with my parents since they’re planning on visiting us and my brother will be taking them to Asia in a couple years.
Your dress could stick to the passenger’s leg – stress. What a load of nonsense. As if that is stressful.
I just got back from a 10 day trip to France with our church. At your recommendation, I bought the vest. It worked really well. From JFK to Nice, we were seated in the bulk head emergency exit seat. I love the leg room, not having to crawl over someone or having someone crawl over me and most importantly no one reclining into me! However there is no under seat storage, so the vest was a lifesaver. It also came in handy on the trip itself: the bus ride, climbing to the top of Mont St. Michel etc. The only negative I have is that the inside pockets don't have zippers. I'm going to try to add some velcro. That would make the vest perfect! Thank you for featuring this.
I disagree about hoodies. My hooded fits over my head and eyes for privacy
Where can I buy the cooler for the meds
Travel hacks are helpful but your hand gestures are excessive. It is distracting & unnecessary.
Fantastic information particularly for returning to the U.S…THANKS! 12:48
Francs? Have we invented time travel already?
I live in a very dry climate and apply aloe vera gel on my face, followed by lotion.
Great advice. Thank you for sharing. We are going to Italy in October and will be taking three flights to get there! Long day of travel.
MOST of you links do not work trying to get the travel case for cords, that whole sections I can't get to link to amazon
Im travelimg soon..where did you buy compression socks?
What do you mean? "Ask your doctor to prescribe a flat thing of foil just for the pills that you're going to need, and some extras."
How can you tell if your charging pack has a lithium battery in it?
Laurie love your videos. New subscriber. Do you have a link for the re travel vest?
Is the mirror on the brush allowed?
Awesome tips!
I use those tracking devices but all the time knowing that the thieves are going to tear through everything pretty quickly and pitch anything that isn’t explicitly valuable…and leave that clever tracking card behind.
They watch these videos, too, you know.
Since they maybe reading these comments, as well, they should also know that I carry a dummy wallet with a cancelled credit card (expiration date is still valid but I cancelled the card) and some little bit of cash…so that is hopefully pleasing enough for them to move along.
Thanks for all of the tips Laurie. My longest flight ever was in May 2024 when I traveled with a friend of mine and her family to the Philippines.. she was making a trip back home to visit family and invited me to come along originally planned in 2020 but we won’t go into what happened early that year but it took almost 4 years to get it rescheduled. Our flight took us from Atlanta Georgia to Seoul Korea, then onto Manila Philippines just the flight from Atlanta to Seoul was 15 hours and 20 minutes then sold to Manila was close to four hours. I survived.
My face does not get dry on long flights, it gets greasy! I pack individual wrapped witch hazel wipes.i can use on my face and hands. I also pack finger “toothbrush “ that I can freshen my teeth & gums. I pack individual wrapped feminine wipes for the bathroom, too! Laurie is correct- organize that carry on so items can be found easily, anytime! ❤
Frio coolers are better
Thank you for the helpful tips and ideas. FYI 100$ bills are helpful in many Asian countries to get the best currency exchange rates.
Would love a real packing video. Luggage AND toiletries. Pleasee
👍🏼video. Question: could you post any tips for those of us who are both US and EU dual citizens?
Thanks for the tips buy why ask my doctor about drinking water in foreign countries? I am going to Montenegro, other than a pure coincidence, how would my doctor know anything about drinking water in a small country in former Yugoslavia, or most any foreign country?
I always wear a ScottEVest hoodie on the plane over a t-shirt and in even mildly cool climates I also wear a cuddly scarf. It keeps me warm and holds my cross body bag (or its contents). In the event of an evacuation, I’ll still have what I need. I even keep a change of undies in it, just in case!
I have to say this all seems like really basic stuff that anybody that travels would know
We are travelling into SFO international, then domestic flight between SFO to EWR domestic, and then leaving JFK international – any tip to prepare us for US airports especially domestic flights? 🙂
Where r the things she mentions?
Hi Laurie. I have a question about the CBP mobile passport app. There seems to be several options in the app store. Which one do you recommend? Thanks
Do you have a recommendation for an essentials bag? I really appreciate your videos. I bought the vest and used that trick, it was great! Thanks!
Are you able to take a travel size shaving foam can in your checked luggage (not cabin)..or is that considered combustable?
I am hearing that going to the bank to get Euros before you leave is no longer a good idea because banks are charging more now.
"Mammogram tight seat" LOL Some really good sound grounded tips. Thank you.
I've watched several of your videos and I'm confused when you say that some international airports require you to change to their liquids back I may be wrong but I believe a liter it's about an ounce or two larger than a quart bag so don't understand why they would want you to upsize your bag
I flew domestically last week and lithium batteries are not supposed to be packed in checked luggage.
You are allowed to use in plain sight but shouldn’t charge anything in the overhead bin (per Southwest Airlines, at least)
So yes, pack in your personal bag if there’s a chance you will need to gate-check your carryon
I am slowly becoming better at packing, meaning better planning, taking less stuff and using products that have dual purposes when possible. It felt like an “Aha!” moment when I realized I only needed enough meds for one day rather than the full week in my backpack for the flight. Using that approach – what would I REALLY need for those hours on the plane and then packing only that amount meant I could use a small packing bag that had the essentials – first aid meds, entertainment and necessities that I pulled out before putting my backpack and carryon put away. I included a folded disposable bag in my little zipper bag to use as my trash bag rather than having to deal with bits and bobs until the flight attendant could take them. I never needed to fumble through my backpack because it was all in that one bag. So thanks to you with so many travel tips and hacks, this was the best stress free travel I have had. 💕💕💕
One thing I never even thought of even after many years of international flights is buying a data blocker that fits onto your charging cable because apparently when charging devices in public spaces and on the plane data can be stolen. Even at my age I am always learning great tips.
