I like to add please use taxi whenever you feel tired and ship your luggages. Don’t try to push your luggages through big stations. Also, please respect those signs in temple or shrine saying no photo.
Can u share the places u visited & ur itinerary please?
I’m finishing up my first trip and I definitely agree with point one! My favorite time so far has been when I just give myself time to explore and do whatever. It sucks because sometimes it means missing out on stuff but hey gives me a good excuse to come back :).
Oh im sure there are people who love overloading their itinerary but I also find that rather tiresome. Stick to a region and enjoy what they have to offer there. Im glad I got to enjoy Yokohama region and then scoped some spots in the port cities up north and saved a day for Tokyo for only specific sites. I can always come back to Japan and try another region and enjoy Tokyo another day out of it. I think my regret is that I didnt pack a bigger luggage for omiyages and also not trying a single green matcha ice cream there. Ugh next time Japan. 😉
All I learned from this is "Kyoto at all costs."
I stayed in Shibuya for a week. Didn’t plan one day and had the best time of my life. My Amex worked everywhere and having cash helped where it didn’t. I got a global wifi hotspot from the airport and it worked better than my friends eSIM. My advice is don’t overthink your 1st time. Just go and start exploring
My Asian cutie pie 😊
It is my regret to watch your video
Agree. Less days in tokyo more days in kyoto
My mom gave me solid advice before I started planning my first solo trip: you need 3 days to see a city, minimum. Travel day's don't count, because you never get to do anything but travel. If you're going to a "bigger" city with a lot of museums or things you want to see, like Tokyo, or Paris, or London, plan at least 5 days. Day trips work, but only for small towns or places you only have one activity planned for at the very most.

現金だけが多いから不便だね。
Just came back from Japan, spent about 9 days. What an amazing place. I spent about 50% of the time eating some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted and the rest of the time being in awe of just about everything I was seeing.
Heading to Japan in mid-November. Does the humidity allow me to wash my clothes at night and have them dry by morning?
i’m tired of foreign tourists.
can’t stand anymore.
The lesson I learnt was: Take plenty of money with you.
"Stopped going to family events unless we absolutely had to."
No such thing as HAD to. You either do or you don’t.
The cash tip is important, I missed out on some really special items in Japan because I didn't have enough cash on me! ATMs charge in Japan so make sure you bring yen before your trip to take advantage of cheap rates
I went to Osaka last summer and it’s super fun!! I also love that Japan is so clean and it is so fun there.
I always spend 15 days for all my trips to Japan but everytime on the last day I keep regretting I should spend another week😅😅😅
We took a day trip from Osaka to Kobe this past May. The botanical gardens were such a lovely surprise.
How much cash would you recommend for a 9 day trip? I have 1k sgd (in yen) in youtrip but worried about cash.
Wonder how many hours people spend usually? Also like how much time you are walking, enjoying or waiting in line?
Amazing. You should make a book on how to travel to Japan.
Thank you for sharing these tips.🙏
Just returned from Japan 4 days ago and my 3 regrets were:
1. Not utilizing the widely available GO Taxis to get around instead of utilizing the maze-like subway system. We used the subways in Tokyo but smartened up in Osaka and utilized the GO Taxis, which made for a better experience.
2. Not venturing off on my own whenever the wife was down for the count. The combination of the heat 🥵 and the walking took its toll on her, so some of the outings were cut short. Right after getting her back to the hotel and getting some food I should have gone out on my own.
3. Missing out on Akihabara and Dotonbori as a result.
My goal is to revisit Japan in November of next year and visiting all of the places I missed out on during this recent trip and not repeating any of the mistakes made.
Just went and did exactly what you’re saying and it was a wonderful time
Fully agree ! 😅
