Calling someone stupid for not knowing this is… well… stupid
„Trail running shoes are your friend“ – bullshit noob!
Footwear is dictated by season , terrain and length of trip. Go on a 10 day solo trip into the Brooks Range, or the Wrangles in trail runners. I dare you.
Carry coffee filters to pre-filter sediment laden water
Carry the stove and fuel of your choice. Keep fires to a minimum.
Nothing is better for protecting hotspots from becoming blisters that silver duct tape
Match your gear to the conditions and always plan for colder weather than forecasted.
Stay hydrated, take time to take pictures and be grateful for your time in the wild
Idiotic first tip
The first tip is so wrong that I don’t even care what the others are.
yup …HELP with the fire. you Will lose new friends on this one
Trail running shoes are garbage. I live in Alaska bro. I’d be cooked if I wore those fruity pieces of cloth
What moron would forego sturdy boots with 35-40 lbs on their back? Horrible advice. 👎🏼
Own trail runners AND boots. Both have a use for different trail conditions
“Trail running shoes are your friend” people have never done the obscure NH 4000ers. Balls of your feet will be bleeding and your ankles will be blue
You’re the stupid one for making this video sir
Ooo gtfo with your trail shoes
Barefoot shoes my guy. VivoBarefoot Tracker Forest ESC, best gosh darned thing ive ever walked in, no contest, nothing comes close.
He's being sponsored by a trail running company. Wear whatever you're comfortable with.
Only stupid through hikers dismisses boots.
Depends. you could not wear running shoes anyway back country in nz where i live, that is what we call dangerous and unprepared and has gotten many people killed year. Root, muddy, slippery terrain, you need decent boots and pac bare minimun dangerous advice, be careful
The non stupid guy is apparently wasting time messing around with prefiltering his water instead of using water wizard or aluminun sulfide to settle it out
…don't put wood in stone else,s fire
Me with a crocs and wood stick trekked 1200 feets high mount
I LOVE my big heavy boots lol. Keeps my feet glued to the ground basicaly no matter what. I dont have to pay as much attention to my feet; I can just focus on the view and my surroundings. But camp shoes are a must !
Those big stupid hiking boots last a lot longer than 250miles
an "influencer" who calls people stupid because they hike their own hike – clicked on this by accident, can't stand this guy
Good tips! 🐐🐐🐐
Calling people stupid for not knowing something is a little harsh, no? I’m sure there’s something you don’t know. Are you stupid?
Backcountry hiking with mesh shoes yea great idea.. NOT. This is the dumbest video I've seen on hiking and that's no exaggeration.
boots are crazy light these days.
Ugh, stupid people? How about inexperienced. Everyone has to start somewhere
Boots help me with traction.
Are you Kyle Beats?
only stupid people don`t know about…. say that out loud and u should be able to hear how stupid u sound saying that, if u do not know something it has everything to do with a lack of knowledge, ur not stupid for not knowing something dude, maybe u don`t know that ? ok then ur not as stupid as u sound
Haven't seen you hike anyththing in 2 years! Kyle does hate hiking!
Boots are necessary in cold, wet climates and on rocky routes.
In the south we can wear hiking sandals and trainers in winter but if you go off trail with all the snakes and ticks I would most definitely wear boots.
Leukotape stays on, unlike KT tape
Hope I’m not in the category only stupid people would watch this
get a pair of leather boots like a real man and throw away the orange and pink running shoes boy
I prefer boots but I’m not a pro – just know what I like
Im sorry but these were weird tips. You seem experienced, why not give better/ more insightful tips. “Help out with fire wood” yeah thats really such a useful backpacking tip😂
BREAK DOWN FIRE RINGS!!! Dig a shall hole in sand, burn forearm length branches, then douse with water and cover with sand for NO TRACE! Thank You!!!
Or u can just wear sandals 🙂
Oh no, kyle thinks I’m stupid😭😭
Lacking this knowledge means you’re stupid? Maybe if you’ve been hiking for years sure.
Maybe we should throw out the standard IQ test and replace it with a 5 question quiz..
Im not stupid but i dont backpack so why would i know that
As someone who works construction in the summer, I prefer wearing boots in the woods to protect my ankles
I don't think trail runners have the traction or stability for rough, mountainous terrain
Always, ALWAYS wear boots. Always.
disagree on the boots, they offer much needed ankle support, they often provide protection against insect or snake bites (i hike on tropical forests), they often offer more water resistance and good boots are way more durable than good hiking shoes. people often choose heavy expensive boots with rubber soles but there are lighter ones with PU inject mold soles that last good 5 years of intense use, they have hard tips too if you plan on chopping some wood its gonna save your toes from heavy objects falling on them
Degrees C or F?
I will shout in disagreement until my face is purple I’ve been hiking in usmc standard issue warm weather boot for the past 5 years in the freezing cold and never once been more comfortable
I wear both different times of the year and depending on trail conditions and like both. If i had to choose one its definitely boots for ankle support and toughness. Also many boots are designed light weight these days.
