The 4-wheel rule doesn't count for cabin bags. If you have a type of cabin bag with a 4-wheel and a 2-wheel model, the 2-wheel model gives you about 4 liters (yes US, normal countries use liters) extra volume inside the luggage compartment.

The shade to American Airlines lol all the airlines overbook frequently (probably not so much now after the guy got thrown off) I’ve hit a lick on Delta a few times for being a volunteer! Lol

So manipulate people by crying to try to get your way, um no, I have more respect for myself and others. I worked in a customer service setting before and anytime a someone would cry to try to get their way ( crying over the dumbest things ) I would shut them down immediately.

Best hack: Pack snacks for the flight so you don't buy anything, and go grocery shopping when you land if you're staying somewhere with a fridge. I spent $50 on food and toiletries for two people for 10 days in California.

This may be weird but i recommend it just in case, especially if you're going to a city/country that's known for being insecure/unsafe, something that I always do because i'm from somewhere that you have at least a 70% chance of getting your luggage opened, is placing the most valuable things (like maybe your fav clothes, parfums, jewelry, etc) in the bottom of your suitcase and then the "not as important" stuff on top of those like old clothes, underwear and even some dirty socks hahaha that way you'll make them less reachable so if sometime your luggage does get open it might prevent important stuff from getting stolen 🙂

You should do this even if your luggage is protected by a padlock, i've had mine broken before
